Building an angel investor community from zero
We did not raise a network. We met it, one person at a time, over four years, and told them the weaknesses before the strengths.
Our foundation was built by focusing on IT parks, networking events and personal interactions across Kerala, from Kasaragod to Trivandrum. We shared the journey, showed the projects, and let people understand us properly rather than through a pitch deck.
That is slow. It is also the only thing that has held. When a hate campaign arrives, and one will, the relationships built over years are what stay standing. A list of contacts collected in a quarter does not survive its first bad week.
If you are starting: assume it takes three years before the network is real, and spend those three years being unusually honest. Nothing else compounds the same way.
